POSITION: Head of Retail Back Office Operations

The land EMEA business has built a downstream supply business where World Fuel provides reliable supply of power, providing day ahead and within day trading of physical power, overlaid with financial hedging to deliver against customers predefined mandate. Within this team a position has arisen for a Head of Retail Back Office Operations.

POSITION LOCATION: Nordics

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be part of the EMEA Supply & Trading team and will lead Kinect Energy Services Supply & Trading Back Office which is responsible for supporting a customer base of over 2000 customers with over 50,000 meters with an annualized volume of > 10TWh representing over $2bn in receivables per annum,and responsibilities will include
  • Ensuring timely onboarding of new customers in line with contractual arrangements
  • Ensuring register control and payment of incoming energy invoices
  • Act as control for volume and costs for pre defined customer base
  • Ensure smooth delivery of monthly cost and volume reports on Kinect Online
  • Work with futures traders to understand and validate monthly financial reconciliations
  • Undertake any financial reconciliations on invoices in line with financial performance from futures trading team
  • Work closely with Spot team to understand and validate imbalance pricing to end users
  • Support user administration and ongoing provision of information for Kinect Online
  • Ensure preparation and submission of customer reports on a monthly basis in line with contractual arrangements
  • Ensure preparation and submission of customer facing invoices on a monthly basis in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Deliver clear methodology and approach for managing outstanding invoice payments to ensure accounts receivable versus accounts payable Net Trade Cycle remains consistent
  • Work closely with tech support team to identify and deliver IT capability to ensure improved automation of Back Office functionality
Person Specification (background And Skills

The successful candidate will require excellent numeracy skills, be calm and confident and able to respond calmly under duress. The candidate will be structured with an analytical mindset and will be confident with communication and should be flexible enough to be able to respond to demands at short notice and knowledgeable enough to be able to prioritise on a daily basis The core competencies of the successful candidate will include:
  • Commercial mindset and analytical thinking are essential
  • Degree within, finance or business administration is highly desirable
  • Strong Excel skills are essential
  • Experience gained in a similar role is highly desirable
  • Previous experience gained from the energy industry is highly desirable
  • Strong numerical skills and systematic approach are essential
  • Strong communication skills in English both written and verbal are essential
  • Sound communication skills and proven track record of managing a team are essential
  • Experience within Lean and/or Agile processes will be an advantage.
