About the role:
The Director of People Operations will play a critical leadership role in building our rapidly growing global organization and evolving and amplifying our culture across the company through their ability to find, develop, motivate, and retain top talent at CHOOOSE. The role is highly cross-functional, and the Director of People Operations is expected to champion the company’s culture across all regions and disciplines. The role will directly support the senior leadership team and work closely with functional team leaders, allowing the company to develop and grow quickly. The Director of People will oversee all day-to-day human resource operations and recruitment related activities as well as build out a long-term people strategy and team. The role is based in Oslo, Norway.
Responsibilities:
- Lead CHOOOSE’s recruitment strategy and develop scalable hiring processes to attract, onboard, develop, and retain the best candidates to help support CHOOOSE’s growth.
- Support the senior leadership team with enhancing CHOOOSE’s organizational strategy, including headcount growth, organizational structure, internal communications, and processes.
- Oversee and execute daily HR operations including systems, processes, and policies.
- Develop best-in-class people programs in recruiting, onboarding/exiting, performance management, learning & development, compensation, benefits, professional development, and recognition.
- Assist the Head of Legal to manage global labour laws as they relate to relevant contracts, payroll, and onboarding/offboarding documents for our global employees.
- Champion, clarify, and communicate the company culture, ensuring it forms the basis of all that we do at CHOOOSE and is maintained as the company grows.
- Support the Marketing team in developing and delivering an employer brand.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years experience in HR or HR Operations; experience working in a growth startup and/or technology company with international operations is preferred.
- Experience with managing HR teams and building an HR function; experience managing teams across different regions and time zones is preferred.
- Minimum a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or relevant field.
- Ability to influence and drive change with senior leaders in scaling organization.
- Passion for people, focusing on empathy, understanding, and supporting employees.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of the business.
- Deep knowledge of HR systems and other HR/Recruitment tools.
- Ability to think and perform both strategically and tactically; able to analyze and present data to make decisions.
