Now there is a fantastic opportunity for a curious and passionate Customer Development Manager to join our Norwegian Commercial Team and work with our largest strategic customer. Could this be you?


Job Purpose:


As a Customer Development Manager you will:

  • Work closely to build relationships with our biggest customers
  • Have a clear understanding of the retailer strategy, their shopper and how Colgate-Palmolive can optimize their brands and strategic intents
  • Lead the yearly negotiations with your customer
  • Deliver on our targets such as net sales, margin and profit by building and implementing business plans
  • Deliver budgeted sales, profit growth, & share, whilst developing the day-to-day partnership between Colgate-Palmolive and the customer, within a sustainable, mutually profitable business model


Main Responsibilities:


  • Demonstrate commercial acumen in interrogating the business, in order to swiftly identify issues and opportunities for resolution/optimisation.

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of the retailer strategy, their shopper and how CP can optimize their brands and strategic intents within this environment.

  • Be responsible for collaborative planning with your customer, owning the input and delivery of an accurate Customer forecast volume/sales/investment.

  • Build strong external networks, in order to enhance customer engagement, gain a broader understanding of the retailer and identify new business opportunities and challenges.

  • Work closely with the Consumer Experience team to understand category growth opportunities and how to optimize for CP and customer.

  • Work closely and creatively with marketing and brand managers to identify, develop and implement the appropriate business solutions required to drive the retailer business forward.

  • Accountable for ensure customer ledger and financial accruals and rebates are activated and settled appropriately working with the AR and Finance department.

  • Build strong internal networks in order to raise the profile, business focus and support for the retailer.

  • Proactively take on business development projects within the customer development function, to drive and influence the broader CP business.

  • Work closely and collaboratively within the commercial team as a key contributor and team player, to shape both the overall team strategy and day-to-day workings, in order to optimize the total team performance.

  • Customer Development/KAM experience (preferable in FMCG or Medical industry)

  • I can Initiate & manage change

  • I’m know for building and keeping relations - and enjoy stakeholder management

What are your Key Challenges?


To be able to lead a demanding, constantly evolving customer with the appropriate level of creativity, whilst ensuring that the business decisions are mutually profitable and sustainable for both parties.

It is critical to be able to prioritise and respond to a large number shifting requests in a timely manner, whilst keeping the broader CP business informed of the evolution of the retailer. This is essential in order to secure the level of investment and focus required to enable you to deliver your customer strategy & joint business plan.
